I’m a writer, translator, and researcher with a knack for intercultural communication. I also hold an MA in Religion in Global Politics, focusing on the availability of halal food in Tokyo and the implications of this for Muslims in the city, and am pursuing an MA in the Anthropology of Food. Previously based in Tokyo and now in London, I write and talk about lifestyle, travel, and food-related topics, particularly those pertaining to Japan and its cultures.
Having grown up and studied in places such as the Netherlands, the US, London, Sapporo, and Tokyo, I’m drawn to the weird, wonderful and local. People have called me a wandering encyclopedia more than once – I try to make use of that by distilling lots of information into something more comprehensive and engaging. If that’s what you’re looking for, let me help you out next.
